Roman Schöne – Land Art – Installation

Installation

Installation in the garden of the Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop.
For the Neues Kunsthaus, the artist created a group of split boulders as well as a cone made of layered twigs.

Roman Schöne works exclusively with natural materials. Twigs, stones, leaves, mud, rainwater, snow, and other natural materials are arranged into objects, sculptures, and installations, blending into the surroundings. The artist views himself as a collaborator with the location and materials, where an intuitive and carefully planned approach go hand in hand.

Schöne's works in public spaces or nature are subject to the changing seasons and weather conditions, which influence the pieces. The environment itself writes into Schöne's land art works, transforming them until they ultimately decay into their original materials, thus returning to the natural cycle.
