An exhibition project by Künstlerhaus Lukas, Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop, and Sparkasse Vorpommern at the Ribnitz-Damgarten branch, Lange Straße 46, 18311 Ribnitz-Damgarten.
After earning a medical degree, Ira Gvozdyk studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her work has been exhibited in Kyiv, including at the International Gallery of the U.S. Embassy and Gallery 83. Internationally, she has participated in exhibitions such as the 9th International Printmaking Biennial in Douro, Portugal.
In addition to her work as a multidisciplinary artist, Ira Gvozdyk is also active as a curator. In 2016, she founded the "Ukrainian Print Exchange", an annual exchange program. She curated "The One Who Fades Away" by Dmytro Prosvietov in 2019 and co-curated a series of exhibitions for the Kyiv Art Week in 2020.
In 2022, she was awarded special artist residencies at Künstlerhaus Dortmund, Künstlerhaus Schwalenberg, and Künstlerhaus Lukas Ahrenshoop, where she focused on printmaking and photography.
Her work is deeply rooted in Ukrainian folk art and everyday culture, which is also reflected in her techniques. Using a variety of printmaking methods, embroidery, and digital photography, Ira Gvozdyk creates artistic reflections on home and identity.
