Gunnar Bergh - Drawings

Exhibition

At the Sparkasse branch in Ribnitz-Damgarten

An exhibition project of the Künstlerhaus Lukas, Neues Kunsthaus Ahrenshoop, and Sparkasse Vorpommern at the Ribnitz-Damgarten branch, Lange Straße 46, 18311 Ribnitz-Damgarten.

The exhibition will be on display from December 14, 2023, to December 2024 at the Sparkasse Vorpommern in Ribnitz-Damgarten, Lange Straße 46, during regular opening hours.

The painter and graphic artist Gunnar Bergh was a 2023 fellow at the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop as part of an international exchange program with art institutions in the Baltic Sea region. He was nominated for a residency grant at the traditional artists' house by the Grafikwerkstatt and Gallery Ålgården in Borås/Sweden. Gunnar Bergh was born in 1952 in Hofors, Sweden. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. His works have been shown across Sweden and are part of the collection of the Borås Art Museum.

The drawings displayed in the exhibition focus on the fundamental aspects of art, with a concentration on the essentials. Through his images, Bergh tells stories about life. Using pastel tones, he captures moods of people on the beach—dreaming, engaged in conversation, and enjoying the moment. Gunnar Bergh seeks the happiness of peaceful days, which he captures through variations in expression, stroke by stroke. The artist lives and works in Borås, Sweden.
